Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September 1983) is an American actress who is best known for her roles as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television show Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Born in Worthington Ohio, she left high school in order to relocate into Los Angeles with her mother following her divorce from her parents. The year 2001 was a difficult one for her, but despite finances it was possible to land her first major performance in the video online series Rachel's Room as the principal character. The film for television Murder in Greenwich, in which she played 15-years-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination of a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004, and she shared a Screen Actors Guild Award (with other cast members) along with her. Grace was a co-star alongside Tom Welling on The Fog during 2005, wanted to move into film. In 2007, she appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and also, as the Liam Neeson character Kim Mills as Kim Mills for Taken. In 2008, she played the same role in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both in 2012). Grace played Shannon's part as Shannon in Lost for two more episodes, including the series final. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth episode of Californication. She plays Faith an actress in a group and as a muse to the stars who captures the eye of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal Family she's the younger sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began as an early teenager, as she was cast in minor parts in a few films directed from her father. Also, she worked alongside her brother in 2001's famous film Donnie Darko. She then appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romantic comedy drama Secretary (2002) and the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) both of which earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination. Following a string of commercially successful movies in 2006 such as World Trade Center she received more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). For her performance as the single mom in Crazy Heart (2009) she got a nomination in the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She then played in comedies and dramas, including Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 Her other roles included Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller), musicians in Frank (2014 and drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018), and The Kindergarten teacher.
