Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). When she was just five years old, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled in her first Dragon School. At the age of six, Emma was aware she would like to be an actor and for many years she trained at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied the art of acting and dancing. By the age of ten she had performed and taken as the main character in several Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film adaption of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was identified by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. After eight consistent auditions producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast for the roles of the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's film debut coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). This film was 2001's highest production, and it broke records at the opening as well as the first weekend. Film critics praised the film as well as the performance of three leading young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an important British publication, described Emma's acting "amazing". Emma received five nominations for her impressive performance. Later, she won the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress in a Film.
